A few tips and tricks to picking the right colors for your wedding!
Picking your colors can be one of the hardest decisions, and it is something that will be a foundation for a lot of your wedding planning. These tips will help get you started!
1: Pick your favorite color(s) to start
If you don't love the color in general, you aren't going to love putting the color all over everything for your wedding. If you know you love wearing a certain color, or you love a few shades of something, you have a great starting point. You will base your full color palette around your base color. You will choose accent colors after.

2: Fit your colors into your season
Each season comes with a designated color scheme and certain trends that are affiliated with the season. They aren't something to confine your decision, but they do give helpful guidelines and ideas.
Fall and winter colors tend to have darker color palettes whereas spring and summer have lighter and brighter palettes.
3: Consider your venue
Your venue can dictate a lot of the colors that will be integrated into your pictures involuntarily. If you're having an outdoor ceremony or reception you may have a lot of greens, blues, or whites depending on your background. If you're in Southern Utah you may have a lot of reds as your backdrop.
If you're having an indoor ceremony or reception, you might have limitations on linens or other provided decorations.
Figure out what is available, find was to incorporate your back drop, and use those colors to compliment or be your base colors.
4: Figure Out Your Wedding Style or Theme
There are a lot of themes or styles our there. Some common ones are bohemian, rustic, elegant, etc. Bohemian styles often use a lot of darker neutrals, oranges, and hotter colors. Rustic weddings use a lot dusty colors. Muted purples, pinks or blues fit really well into rustic themes. Elegant themes can incorporate a lot of colors, but often keep a lot of light in the palette. Lots of creams, champagnes, ivories, and whites are included.
5: Do Your Research
Choosing colors shouldn't feel like a daunting task. Using things like Pinterest or wedding websites can also be a big help. Finding ideas from other peoples past experience is not a bad thing. People share their ideas to try and help your process, so don't feel any shame in using other peoples ideas as inspiration for your own wedding.
