Wedding Checklist: The Complete Guide to Keep you on Track

This checklist will help you plan your Utah wedding through all of the months leading up to your wedding to keep it seamless and stress free.
6+ Months
▢ Choose a date (or a few possible ones that give you some wiggle room)
▢ Decide on your budget and who is in charge of paying for what. You can use wedding budget calculators from Magnet Street or Wedding Wire for help.
▢ Choose wedding party (Maid of Honor, Bridesmaids, Best Man, Groomsmen, Flower Girls, and/or Ring Bearer)
▢ Start finding things that fit your style and possible create a vision board on Pinterest. You can go to our board to start with a few ideas. Also research times to go to Bridal Expos that can connect you with vendors and possible ideas for your wedding.
5 Months
▢ Explore and reserve a ceremony and reception venues.
▢ Book officiant or reserve temple for time and date.
▢ Purchase wedding dress, veil and undergarments (or reserve temple date to receive endowments).
▢ Decide on groomsmen attire.
▢ Decide on/purchase bridesmaids gifts and attire
▢ Schedule your first dress fitting.
▢ Start getting an head count and start compiling a guest list.
▢ Decide you want an HMUA to help with your big day
▢ Establish a fitness and skin care routine.
4 Months
▢ Choose flowers for everything (wedding party, venues, cake, hair accessories, etc.)
▢ Book honeymoon flights
▢ Book room for wedding night
▢ Order wedding cake
▢ Hire ceremony musicians
▢ Decide on decorations and keep expenses in the budget
▢ Reserve rentals
▢ Book DJ
▢ Take your engagement pictures
▢ Create registries (Target, Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc.)
3 Months
▢ Finalize honeymoon plans (rooming, transportation, etc) and make sure you have any documents you need
▢ Experiment with wedding hairstyles and make up or have a trial run with your HMUA
▢ Purchase guestbook, flower basket, and ring bearer pillow.
▢ Collect addresses and create invitations
▢ Decide on and order wedding favors
▢ Order thank you notes for early gifts and bridal showers
2 Months
▢ Mail wedding invitations
▢ Develop system for organizing RSVPs
▢ Begin writing vows
▢ Apply for marriage license (order 2-3 extra)
▢ Finalize playlists for DJ
▢ Book wedding day transportation
▢ Take engagement pictures
1 Month
▢ Confirm dates with vendors
▢ Pack for honeymoon
▢ Pick up marriage license
▢ Final dress fitting
▢ Write thank you notes as gifts are received
2 Weeks
▢ Give final count to caterer
▢ Update registries
▢ Break in wedding shoes
▢ Send playlist to DJ
▢ Get final haircut and color
1 Week
▢ Lay out wedding clothes
▢ Prepare wedding day emergency kit
▢ Get the grooms final haircut
1 Day
▢ Get mani/pedi/massage
▢ Go to bed early
The Big Day
▢ Eat a good breakfast
▢ Allow yourself plenty of time to get ready and have someone to keep you on track
